Civil War Fonts & Clip Art

Look what I found! 70+ Clip Art Images, and 14 fonts (16 counting the two dingbats) all authentic from the Civil War era– just in time for the musical! Can we say authentic poster/programs?

The Civil War Press Fonts & Clip Art from The Walden Font Company. Pretty sweet.

They have other sets too, including Revolutionary War era, a Roman set, and a German Script font. Their tag line is “Reviving the Fine Art of the Letter Press.” They even have a brief Printing in America history page. Definitely saving this for later use.

The Civil War set was $40. A little much for a project I’m doing for free (since I’m in the show), but it’s a complete set of fonts from the 1800’s. I could have used these for Show Boat or Molly– and there will probably be other uses for 19th century typefaces later on. And besides, there might be Reenactors watching ;)

End.

thanks for the info. Working on an ad for my portfolio class at college and desperately needed a civil war font for a bourbon ad. I know…but still thanks. Have a super day! :D
